The question whether a pig can swim seems to have been spectacularly answered in the affirmative by the historic
        escape
and survival of “Pig 311,” which pluckily leaped from a sinking ship and swam through radioactive waters until
        rescued,
at the time that the test bomb was dropped on Bikini. Of the 3,352 animals exposed to the bomb, this sow was the
        most
        publicized.
