SLAMA SIDHI BARAKHAS
Welcome to the last page.
Parting is such sweet sorrow … or are you glad?
Shall I say “Good-bye”? It means “God be with ye.”
In Morocco, when a friend says good-bye to another, he bows, places his left hand on his heart and with his
right hand
he shakes yours as he says “Slama Sidhi” … which means “Peace be with you, my friend.”
Next he raises that hand to his lips and then touches his forehead … (body and soul) … and says “Barakhas,”
which means
“… and blessings on you.”
Let me repeat that to you now.
“Slama Sidhi Barakhas.”
Peace be with you, my friend, and blessings on you.
