angel, an'-gel (Gk.) —
messenger; messengers of God.
Meta. Thought of the Lord (Luke 1:11). Our angels are our spiritual perceptive
faculties, which ever dwell in
the
presence of the Father (Matt. 13:49).
“Their angels do always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven” (Matt. 18:10). These angels of our
childlike,
spiritual thoughts, “these little ones,” are the thoughts that understand spiritual principles. The office of
the angels
is to guard and guide and direct the natural forces of mind and body, which have in them the future of the
whole
man.
The “two angels in white sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain” are
affirmation and denial (John 20:12).
