Equally unsettling, a growing proportion of pilgrims at The Palms Trailer Park sought the Grail of Automata (Rosellini's 1737 mechanical pig) instead of Mrs. Lorac's steamy, glue-pattern Vision of Our Lord. While the crowds magnified their publicity and swelled the coffers of the Shower-Lourdes Society, Mr. and Mrs. Lorac privately squabbled.
